Is It Necessary To Rent A Car In Puerto Vallarta?
Excellent question! The answer depends on how you’d like to spend your time. Would you like to have the freedom to explore the area? Make the most out of your time in the bay? And save some money by avoiding expensive taxi rates at the airport?
If your rental period starts right from the day you arrive to PV, we offer transportation to our office: On rentals of 3 days or more the rate already includes airport pick-up for up to 3 people; If you take the vehicle until your departure date, a ride back to the airport is also included. If you factor in the time and money you’ll save, a rental starts to make more sense.
Other points to consider: Am I staying close to town? How far of walk is it to public transportation? Are taxis expensive where I am staying?
Overall, Puerto Vallarta buses are very consistent and reliable; however, it takes a long time to cover distances. Consequently, it can be quite uncomfortable to travel to and from the beach carrying an umbrella, cooler, beach chairs, etc.
If you are staying in Punta de Mita or that general area, taxis can be significantly more expensive compared to other places in the bay due to it being a distant and popular destination. Do I Have Full Insurance Coverage? And Is There a Deductible?
All our vehicles include full-coverage insurance. All our vehicles are insured on a yearly basis; therefore, our rates are all-inclusive. However, there is a deductible that will depend on the vehicle you rent. The deductible amount remains on hold on your account until the vehicle is returned. Upon returning the rental car, we proceed with the payment, and then the deposit can be canceled or applied towards the payment of the rental if the car is returned with no damage and you like to pay with the same credit card.
